Gynecomastia is a medical condition that is characterized by enlarged breasts in men. Clinically it is defined by the presence of a rubbery or firm mass extending concentrically from the nipples. While this can happen at any stage during a man's life, it is more common in boys going through puberty.
For pubescent teens, Gynecomastia can be due to hormonal imbalance, that could be transient and correct itself. More often, Gynecomastia occurs without any particular reason. In men, this could be mostly due to excess fat. Gynecomastia is either glandular (enlarging of the breast gland), fatty, or a combination of the two. If it is due to excess fat, surgical correction is achieved with laser liposuction. If it is glandular, surgical excision or a combination of excision and laser liposuction is recommended.
