Types of Breast Implants
At Allentown Plastic Surgery Center, we use both silicone and saline breast implants.
We place an incision either in the crease below the breast, around the nipple or in the axilla. Implants are placed in the front of the muscle or more often under the muscle, which offers many advantages.
The implant size and corresponding cup size depend on the pocket that can be made during surgery, which in turn depends on the height, weight and chest size of the patient. Measurements are made during the consultation to determine the size.

Breast Implant Procedure
Breast augmentation surgery takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and can be performed as an outpatient procedure either with general or IV sedation. Most patients need about 3 to 4 days to resume normal daily activities and about 2 weeks for full physical activities.
